What's Constitution of India (An Intro)


Hello & Welcome, this is your "APPLY IAS", we all heard about the constitution of INDIA but the actual question is whether we heard it or else we have a broad and depth knowledge about it. I always prefer to the latter one because hearing about the constitution of India is not enough because we are living in Democratic INDIA where the is rules and regulation that we have framed for the good & better guidance. For example, you are playing a game, how will you blindly play the game better without knowing the controls and the rules and regulations. Like the same how can you live better in a society without knowing the rules and regulations of the society that you are living? So, behave a broad knowledge about the constitution. I did like to give my contribution towards spreading the good seeds into society, that’s why I am writing this article for my fellow people of my country.



I can’t explain all details about the constitution in a single article because you need to be aware that the Indian constitution is the lengthiest constitution of the world and we have made nearly 100+ amendments in 50 decades form the enactments of the constitution. In this article, I am going to explain to you what are the Parts (Sub-Division) our constitution has and how you can easily remember it with linking to our life.



Every book has a cover similarly our Written Constitution has a cover which is actually denoted as “PREAMBLE”. The Preamble is a key feature of highlighting the important points of the constitution. The main key important points are “Sovereignty, ……” these were the highlighting points of the constitution. Lets we enter into the parts. Basically, the Indian Constitution has Twenty-Two (22) parts in it.

2. Citizenship

3.Fundamental Rights

4.Directive Principle of State Policy(DSP)

4A.Fundamental Duties

 5.The Union

 6.The States

7.States in the B part of the  first schedule 

8.Union territories

9.Panchayats

9A.Municipalities

9B.Co-Operatives Societies

10.Scheduled and Tribal areas

11.Relation between the Union and the States 

12.Finance,Property,contracts and suits

13.Trade and commerce within India

14.Services provided by the Union and the States

 16.Special provisions relating to certain classes

 20.Amending  the constitution

 21.Temporary,transitional and special provision

 22.Short title, date of commencement, authoritative text in Hindi and repeals.



All right, the above were the parts of the constitution. This is very basic but it is very difficult to keep in mind. Try by yourself first to remember these all with the normal way. You tried it, can you remember them all then you are great to go. If not let me make you this simple.



Now, let me tell you a story, imagine it along with me. You are now just entering into a book shop and picking up a book with the name “Constitution of INDIA” it has a good cover and you just turned around their you see India’s political map with boundaries of the Indian states hanging on the wall 1. State and Union Territories, now you are searching for the shop owner to pay you to find him with a T-shirt with the letter “C” 2.Citizenship printed in his T-shirt. You went near him and questioned about the price. Now you are speaking which is a 3. Fundamental Right. After buying it you came out of the shop and in the pedestrian Director Shankar  (4. Directive Principles of State Policy) and you are questioning about the theme of the Endhiran movie and he replied with smile “The 4A. Fundamental duties of the robot is to save the human’s) he replied.on the way you saw 4 IAS officers one is for 5. The Union(Central) and the other is from 6.the State(Tamil Nadu) and the other is from 7.the states listed in Part B of Schedule 1 and other is from Lakshwadeep one of the 8.Union territory. 



After this, your Dad came to pick you up who is working as a 9.Panchayat secretary with his friend who is working in 9A.Municipality you three went to the Aavin store which is a 9B. Co-Operative society to have a cup of Green tea. Since your Dad has some business in the collector office both of you going through a jungle which is a 10. Scheduled and tribal areas. You reached the collector office and you are seeing a big board with the chart explaining 11. Relationship between the Union and the State you stunned with it and your dad just shooked you to present and told you to buy vegetables from the market and then go home and gave you a sum of 200 rupees (12.Finance,property,contracts and suits). After your bike is ready you reached your home, started watching TV  their you saw the news on the Cauvery Tribunal (14A.Tribunal)  for the Cauvery river water dispute. The next day is 15. Election day both you and your family voted for the candidate of a minority under 16. Special Provision relating to certain classes and he is a good friend of your dad so he likes to take you to Delhi along with him while he is attending the parliamentary sessions. While traveling you are questioning him about the 17. Language is spoken in the parliament and with a smile, he replied it mostly Hindi in some cases it can be English too. Both of you landed at the Delhi airport. In the airport, an announcement is telecasting that this an 18. Emergency provision for you to escape since a small fire break out in the airport. Both of you peacefully escaped from their, And politicians gathered (19.Miscellaneous) attended the parliamentary sessions and amended(20.amending the constitution). Let's say a Triple Thalaq bill need to be passed but the session is over hence for this (21.Temporary, transitional and special provision) had been made by the President of India along with this he requested the people to abolish short titles(22.Short titles, Date of commencement and authoritative text in Hindi).
