The Silk is actually produced from the mulberry worms(Bombyx mori) from their Cocoon by wearing of the threads from the Cocoon and spin into yarns. What actually this Silk is different from the woollen threads. These silk threads have a specials kind of molecular structure which reflects the sunlight into a different colour. This makes the silk a special appearance and gives it a royal look. You may hoe this silk from a small village reach the whole of Asia and Europe. Actually, silk gives rise to the Chinese economy and so many cultures and religion. After the invention of silk it uses had been spread to different countries so its demand had been increased. The Chinese traders started the sell of the silk to India, Kazakhstan and Greece.

During their travel route, they also sold some of the silk cloths. They followed a regular path. And the Kingdom where they travel through their route asked for royalty to pass them through their kingdom. In return, they protected them from the robbers. Due to this, there is a greater demand for the land which the silk route passes. And many invasions were made into these routes Until the Mongolian Dynasty. After the Mongolian rule under Genghis Khan who covered a major part of Asia, the taxes were reduced due to a single empire.

The Silk Route covers Both the Land and the Sea. In India, the Southern Part of the Indian Subcontinent such as the Kaveripumpatiinam present Puhar in Tamilnadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Maharashtra was connected by the waterways and the Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh were the cities covered with the silk route which were in the tentative list of UNESCO 's World Heritage Site.
The silk route had covered a vast area such as the Java in the South, Kazakasthan in the North, Europe in the west and Japan in the East.

And India is the Second Largest Producer of Silk in the World. India's Sericulture is from 52,360 villages among these villages most present in this silk route and generates employment of 8.6 million people in India.
