Hello, and Welcome to Apply IAS, everybody loves to have their own houses, the ancient people are not different, they also like to have their own houses near their living places, that is their habitat. The sites actually fully dug out for a period of 11 years for 1960 to 1971. There is no such big machines or else the advanced concrete technology was there but they were all made a quite smart strategy to get rid of their undesirable environment. In this article, we are going to see the “Burzahom Archaeological site”, which is currently present in Srinagar, Kashmir. Here the houses were made as “PIT HOUSE” in the sense they were actually dug out below the ground. The entrance of the house is fitted with the ladder or even steps so that they can get access to the ground or the earth surface.
People’s life & Structure of the Pithouse:
The people in this place were actually hunter and gather both the people cook their food for their meal. The “Pit House” have room for all their needs such as a like a Hall, store room and waste disposal of eating remains. The Kitchen is one of the fascinating things they have kitchen both inside and outside the house.
Technical Spec:
The House was made of the “Birch Tree” and the walls were mud plastered.
Overall the way they designed their house protected they form the bad environmental conditions such as snow and cold breeze. They cooked the food outside during summers and in winters they have done it inside.
